Celebrate Your Shape!!

Hello lovelies, Kara here! I will be guest blogging here on the Nobella Grace Blog every Monday from now until Kristi gets tired of me, so stick around and this little fashionista might be able to teach you a thing or two ;) I wanted my very first post to be a special one, of course, and I wanted to make sure to write about something interesting (to make sure you keep on coming back). I thought long and hard until it finally dawned on me “why not write about what most of my fellow females struggle with on the day to day!” If you tend to ask yourself questions like; “will this look good on me?” or make statements like “I don’t think I can pull that off.” then you will benefit greatly from what I’m about to share with you.  I’m going to help you figure out what your body shape is and then give you tips on how to glorify your shape with the right styles!
The 4 most common body shapes are the Banana (Rectangle), Apple, Pear, and the Hourglass. Yes, I realize there are more than just these 4 and that everyone is uniquely shaped and isn’t going to fit within these categories, but this will at least give you a great starting point! To figure out what your body shape is, click here: Body Type Calculator
First up is the Banana (Rectangle):

(This is my body type) This body type is pretty much proportioned evenly when it comes to waist, hips, and shoulders. The key to dressing this shape is to add dimension to your torso and to also create the illusion of curves. This is the easiest body type to dress because basically you can pretty much get away with wearing just about anything! Lucky you!! Here are some pieces that I recommend for you from Nobella Grace à

Next up is the Apple:

If you have an apple-shaped body, then your body is "top heavy," meaning you have a wide torso, broad shoulders, and a full bust, waist, and upper back. Apple-shaped bodied women also tend to have thinner arms, legs, and hips, and tend to gain weight at their waistlines. If you have an apple shaped-body, then you should be proud of your full figure and get ready to flaunt it. To dress your apple-shaped body, you'll want to take attention away from your middle, since it's already full and also accentuate your bust! Yep you heard me, accentuate the ladies! Check out these great pieces for your shape from Nobella Grace à

The Ombre’ Dress - $14

The Coral Crochet Dress - $39

The Aphrodite Maxi Dress - $44

Next up is the Pear:

Curvy hips, thick thighs, and a full rear are the key characteristics of the pear-shaped woman. Many pear shapes also have a small bust, narrow shoulders, and defined waist. Keep your proportions in check by drawing the eye to your upper body while de-emphasizing your lower half. Choose tops in bright colors and prints and stick to dark colors on your bottom for a slimming effect and won’t draw attention to your hips. Here are some really great pieces from Nobella Grace that would do the trick for you à

The Cloey Kimono Cardi - $34

The Venice Shorts - $18

The Ocean Beach Top - $29

Last but certainly not least is the Hourglass:

The hourglass figure is considered the ideal body type by many women. For women with this body type, the bust and hip are approximately the same size, and the waist is narrow. This gives you a set of sexy, killer curves. When dressing your hourglass figure, look for styles and fabrics that reduce bulk and prevent boxiness. Also, look for pieces that draw attention to your narrow waist. These pieces from Nobella Grace would be perfect à
The Raspberry Sorbet Skirt - $22
Purchase here: Raspberry Sorbet Skirt

The Peaches and Cream Sweater - $32

The Black Lace & Fringe Kimono Cardi - $32

Many women do not fit perfectly within one body shape. For example, you may have the bust and hips of a pear shape, with a slightly bigger stomach than a strict pear shape has. Be prepared for little variations like these and adjust your style needs appropriately. Also note that changes later in life, such as having children, can change your body shape in the future. The
most important key to making your shape look great is to love yourself for who you are and remember that anyone can look good - it's just how you look at them.

XOXO, Karabears
